The intuitive user interface with a lot of helpful functions allows a detailed design review of single parts and complex assemblies. This includes the measuring of distances, angles, radii and wall thicknesses as well as the display of cross sections and exploded views.
3D-Tool enables all members of the project team and also external parties, such as customers and suppliers, to dynamically check and evaluate the construction in 3D.
3D-Tool offers different strategies to publish and distribute CAD-models:
- As compact, directly executable EXE-files. These files contain the viewer, the project data and all annotations, dimensions, views and animations created with 3D-Tool. The recipient can immediately run these EXE-files on any PC without having to install anything.
- As 3D-Tool DDD-files. These are equal to EXE-files but they do not contain the viewer. To view DDD-files the recipient needs the 3D-Tool Free Viewer which can be downloaded for free from our website.
- As 3D-PDF-files. These can be opened and viewed using the free Acrobat Reader.
The display of the model can be adjusted in many ways. Elements can be hidden and shown, colorized, switched to transparent, displayed in different render modes (shaded, shaded with edges, hidden lines, wire frame, etc) and displayed as cross sections.
You can create Custom Views which enable you to setup striking presentations of your design. These views are stored with 3D-Tool EXE and DDD-files so they are available to the recipients of your published files also.
3D-Tool prints views of complete models as well as single parts and details in any desired orientation, or exports the views as JPG or BMP pictures.
3D-Tool uses its own file format, thus your sensitive CAD data cannot be changed unintentionally. The viewer does not give access to your data structure.
You will find more information on the functionality the menu under Functions.
